The analyst can be formal, legalistic, play politics, or be informal; as the success of an interview depends on the skill of the analyst as interviewer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It can be done in two ways \u2212<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Unstructured Interview \u2212 The system analyst conducts a question-answer session to acquire basic information about the system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Structured Interview \u2212 It has standard questions which users need to respond to in either close (objective) or open (descriptive) format.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Advantages of Interviewing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>This method is frequently the best source of gathering qualitative information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is useful for those who do not communicate effectively in writing or who may not have the time to complete a questionnaire.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Information can easily be validated and cross checked immediately.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It can handle complex subjects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is easy to discover key problems by seeking opinions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It bridges the gaps in the areas of misunderstandings and minimises future problems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Questionnaires<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This method is used by analysts to gather information about various issues of the system from a large number of persons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two types of questionnaires \u2212<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Open-ended Questionnaires \u2212 It consists of questions that can be easily and correctly interpreted.
